Lakan Guro Phil Penitcost

Born in England, raised in Ireland, and now a proud American citizen, I began my journey studying Tae Kwon Do under Kwan Ya Nim Steve McGuiness in Belfast, N.Ireland at Combat Sports International. With the birth of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, I saw a huge hole in my game. I quickly sought out a Ju-Jitsu instructor and changed arts to Japanese Ju-Jitsu under Sensei Gerald McAlister (WJJF) & Irish Ju-Jitsu coach Hanshi Dave Toney.
Moving to an America in 2004 saw yet another shift in my training to Tai-Jitsu, a blended style I currently hold the rank of Shihan 5th Dan, and my first introduction to Filipino Martial Arts, specifically Doce Pares Eskrima. That introduction lead me to Tuhon Apolo Ladra and Pekiti Tirsia Kali.
As a forever student of the martial arts, I continue my study and progress in Tai-Jitsu and Filipino Martial Arts. My goal is to share the arts with as many people as possible.
